HALO Innovations
HALO Innovations is dedicated to creating a healthier and safer sleeping environment for adults and children. Founder William Schmid began researching sleeping environments after he lost a daughter to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome in 1991. Since 1994, he and his company have developed products that encourage healthier and safer sleeping as well as bring peace of mind to the homes of its customers. Their hallmark product, the HALO® SleepSackTM wearable blanket, has been on the market since 2000 and has won numerous awards.  Since that time, the company has given generously to support First Candle, donating a percentage of the sale of each SleepSackTM wearable blanket and Swaddle to fund ongoing SIDS research, education and family support at First Candle.

Regal Lager
Regal Lager is a distributor of high quality baby and children's products. The company started out as a small, family owned business and has grown into a large, family owned business. Family is the best way to describe what Regal Lager does: from the ownership, to the esprit de corps of its employees, to its family of quality brands, to its family of retailers, and most importantly, to the company’s commitment to its customers and their families. And that commitment extends to First Candle.  Regal Lager has long been a strong financial and in-kind supporter of First Candle’s mission.  But most importantly, they have consistently lent their expertise to support First Candle’s efforts.

Scripps Howard
Scripps Howard News Serviceis one of the nation's largest news services, serving 18 of the top 20 markets in the United States. The service has been in existence for nearly 100 years. In a recently published investigative report, Saving Babies: Exposing Sudden Infant Death in America, reporters Lee Bowman and Thomas Hargrove conducted a seven-month investigation into 40,000 cases of sudden infant deaths between 1992 and 2004. The report calls national attention to growing evidence that finds an alarming number of infant deaths occurring in unsafe sleep environments, and the critical need for standardizing the way in which these deaths are investigated and reported, in an effort to prevent as many infant deaths as possible. First Candle is proud to recognize the significant impact this investigation has had, and will continue to have, on our ability to reduce our nation’s alarmingly high rates of infant mortality.
