Involving Your Employees

Each year, First Candle receives hundreds of thousands of gifts directly from individuals – some of them may even be your employees.  Your company can support our efforts is by making it easy and convenient for your employees to give.  We encourage you to consider these options:

• Start a First Candle fund in memory of an infant and encourage your employees to support it.  (There is no cost to you, and we handle all of the paperwork!)
  
  
• Launch a matching gift program and maximize your employees’ personal contributions to First Candle.
  
  
• Participate in the Combined Federal and/or Community Health Charities campaigns and encourage your employees to support the campaigns.  Employees simply need to designate their gift to #0561 for either of these campaigns to contribute to our national organization.
  
  
• Host a local fundraising event in your community.  Each year, corporations, associations and other organizations host such events nationwide – accounting for nearly 10% of our annual budget.
  
  
• Work with your employees to outreach to other potential funders in your community to help us build a broader base of support.
  
  
• Lend staff and financial resources for an employee to volunteer as a member of our Board of Directors or Board Committee.
