Memorial Gifts

For family members and friends, the death of a baby is heartbreaking.  At First Candle, we are pleased to offer several ways to remember and honor the memory of a precious baby or loved one:

• Grow the Tree of Hope: The Tree of Hope is a permanent tribute to babies who have died, representing our loss and our love in a very special way with leaves in burnished copper for  girls, bass for boys and a carved walnut trunk. Large foundation stones  support the Tree of Hope at the base, and blossoms of life and wings of peace are interspersed among the leaves.    

• Organize a Special Event:  Each year, individuals and families from around the country host special events to benefit SIDS and stillbirth programs at First Candle.  Money raised at Special Events often are used to establish a Memorial Fund. From walk-a-thons and golf tournaments to banquets and benefit concerts, First Candle can be a resource to help you reach your fundraising and event  goals.   

• Establish a Memorial Fund: A Memorial Fund can provide a meaningful way to  remember a loved one year after year. The Memorial Fund may be  established for ongoing, yearly donations from an individual or group of  individuals.     
   
• Make a Donation in  Memory of a Baby: You may choose to donate in  memory of a baby to support First Candle's key programs and services.  Be sure to include the name and address to which an acknowledgment should be sent (if appropriate).  Our staff will be pleased to forward a special poem keepsake and a notice of your generous gift.
