 Testimonials

Personal testimonies to the House of Representatives played a key role in this year’s public policy efforts.  Christina Roscoe’s story about the death of her son Darrin underscored the importance of increasing educational efforts to erase the health disparity that exists between African American babies and Caucasian babies.

Lana Mar, a mother of four, suffered the tragic loss of her son David to SIDS and her daughter Lauren to Stillbirth.  Her testimony served to reinforce the importance of increased funding and ongoing advocacy efforts in regard to these tragic causes of infant death.

In her testimony to congress in 2003, Alison Glover (mother of twin sons, Gordon and Garrett) shared her personal reflection on the death of Garrett to SIDS in May of 2000.  “Some people can only speak of angels.  I had a chance to hold one.”

If you have a compelling story to share and would like to be considered by First Candle/SIDS Alliance for upcoming public policy testimony, please contact Marian Sokol at 1-800-221-7437 or .
